Publicity photograph used as a theatre fund raiser

These three rather disturbing images were produced for an extremely hard hitting production of “The Duchess Of Malfi”. The production involved a mix of religious iconography and extreme violence. The brief was to produce images which were dark, sinister and frankly uncomfortable. The director was delighted and felt the photographs captured the essence of the brief perfectly.

Of these three posters, the two on the right are mock-ups with the one on the far left the final publicity poster. The director was looking for photographs which either illustrated the nature of the relationship between the two principle women of the story or the intertwining relationship they have with the principle male. The choice of photographs from this session proved to be an embarrassment of riches in the end. Those not used for posters were printed and distributed around the foyer, bar and auditorium. It was also, as is common with my shoots, a fun and productive session - despite the fact that I was suffering from a horrendous gum abcess and catatonic with pain-killers!

An ad for switched on guitarists.

Just for fun...
